Michigan K-12 Schools and Evergreen

The following is a message from a Michigan school migrating to Evergreen. [Posted with permission.] It is great to hear that there are others in Michigan – especially K12 – who are already using Evergreen.  If anyone out there is aware of other Michigan libraries using (or considering) Evergreen, please let us know!

Carson City – Crystal Area Schools, in Michigan, is in the process of migrating. We are moving our first building into production later this week. Based on my experiences so far, I would highly recommend Evergreen to any K12 looking for an ILS. It is definitely a high quality product, and the documentation (on the dev side), has made it easy to add features that are specific to our situation (IE, we wrote an interface to synchronize student patrons with our Student Information System).

Welcome to the Michigan Evergreen Project

Welcome! The Michigan Library Consortium and Grand Rapids Public Library are working together to develop a shared library system using the open source ILS software, Evergreen. We will use this blog to keep the Michigan library community updated on the progress of our Evergreen project.

Currently, we are working to select an initial group of public libraries for the pilot group. We hope to have the pilot group selected before the end of the year.

Please feel free to post your questions and comments to this blog.  We are interested to hear your input!
