David Votta

David Votta presently serves as Community Engagement Librarian for the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services. Previous to MCLS he worked as Archivist for the Capital Area District Library, at the Detroit Institute of Arts Research Library/Archives and as a freelance reporter for NPR affiliate WDET in Detroit. He has studied at the Rare Book School at the University of Virginia and recently completed an MBA at Northwood University.

Your patrons need your help. Summer Reading is about to begin and that struggling child needs just the right books to send them on the path to lifelong reader. But it isn’t just juvenile literature. Art and architecture, cooking, health and medicine, sports and games, and travel are just some of the subjects covered in the MeL databases ebooks collections. Please join us on May 24, at 3:30pm for a 30-minute webinar focused on how you can help your patrons get the most out of MeL eBooks.

Registration is free and open to all Michigan library staff and other interested users.

Registration Information

It is highly recommended that all registrants register for this workshop at least SEVEN DAYS PRIOR to the workshop date. If you register after that, you must additionally send an email to training@mcls.org stating that you have registered past the deadline. You will receive a general email confirmation immediately upon successfully registering for this workshop. All registered attendees will receive an additional email with Adobe Connect login information approximately one week prior to the 1st class date. If you do not receive an invitation to the meeting by noon of the day prior, please email training@mcls.org.

Technical Information

You must connect using a high-speed wired internet connection (not wireless).

Microphones are not required but your computer will need speakers and a sound card to hear the audio via VoiceOver IP.
