Returning reservations

When users/patrons are finished with the resources they have booked and then picked-up, they need to be returned to make them available for other users to book.

There are a couple of ways in which to return resources. They include:

  • The Booking module using the resource barcode
  • The Booking module using the patron barcode
  • Using the patron record


The Booking module using the resource barcode

1. Click on the Booking menu at the top of the screen and select Return Reservations.

2. Choose Resource from drop-down and enter in the barcode from the resource to be returned.

3. Click on the Go button. [If the resource has a message attached to it, it will pop up - just click on the OK button.] If the resource has no message, a box will pop up with the message: “Return successful.”

4. Click on the OK button. The screen will refresh with the returned resource listed.

The Booking module using the patron barcode

1. Click on the Booking menu at the top of the screen and select Return Reservations.

2. Choose Patron from drop-down menu and enter in the patron barcode.
3. Click on the Go button. The screen will refresh with a list of resources the patron has reserved.
4. Click on the resource to be returned and click on the Return button. [If the resource has a message attached to it, it will pop up - just click on the OK button.]If the resource has no message, a box will pop up with the message” “Return successful.” Click on the OK button. The screen will refresh with the returned resource listed at the bottom of the screen.

Using the patron record

1. Retrieve a patron record. Select the Other button at the top right of the screen and select Booking, then select Return Reservations.

2. A new tab will open with a list of resources the patron has checked out.

3. Select the resource to be returned (by clicking on it) and click on the Return button. [If the resource has a message attached to it, it will pop up - click on the OK button.] If the resource has no message, a box will pop up with the message” “Return successful.” Click on the OK button. The screen will refresh with the returned reservation listed on the bottom of the screen.
