Library Personnel Policy Manuals usually contain provisions for benefits, leave (vacation, sick, holidays, FMLA, jury duty, bereavement, etc.), hiring, termination, discipline, grievances, harassment-free environment, and other personnel matters.
Some specifically state that the library is an "at-will" employer. For example: It is the policy of the Library that all employment is on an "at-will" basis which allows the employment to be terminated at any time by either the employee or the Library, with or without cause. Nothing in the Library's Personnel Policies Manual shall be interpreted as a promise or offer of any type of right to continued employment. The Manual is not an employment contract.
