Join OCLC for this free 3-hour interactive workshop examining the impact of the Web on our rapidly changing information landscape. The quick-fire session will share highlights from OCLC’s research (including Libraries at Webscale and Perceptions of Libraries) on today’s increasingly empowered information consumer and present ideas from technology and business thought leaders. OCLC will explore its experiences and interpretations of study data and compare notes about what this means for library technology, services, and outreach in Michigan. Important topics will be discussed, such as: what’s tomorrow’s information consumer thinking about, today? How do library users interact when information lives at Webscale, served up by the so-called “Gang of Four” (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon)? How do libraries take their rightful place at Webscale? How can libraries pursue meaningful innovation?
