Pricing & Policies

MCLS workshop pricing

Prices for MCLS workshops are listed in the description of each workshop. The cost listed is per person for Single Registrations and per group for those workshops that have a Group Registration option.

Group Registration pricing and information

We offer a Group Registration option for those who may be interested in having multiple staff members attend an online workshop at a single location such as a conference room. The Group Registration allows you a single login for one computer station, and then you can project your screen to enable as many staff from your own library as you'd like to view and participate! Group pricing depends on the length of the workshop but saves money over purchasing Single Registrations if you plan to have three or more staff participating together. While only claiming one available spot in a workshop, each group participant can still download and print the workbook, follow along with exercises, and utilize the chat from one shared computer as needed. See the MCLS Store for each workshop which lists the associated Group Registration price if available. You can register your group online through the regular registration process by choosing Group Registration and listing only the Group Contact’s name and email address. The Group Contact is responsible to communicate with group members and share the class materials link with them. For any questions, please email training@mcls.org.

Please note: If some of the staff from your library are interested in the workshop, but unable to view with the group, Single Registrations would need to be purchased for them.

MCLS can also provide dedicated training to your staff on many topics. For more information, please email training@mcls.org.

MCLS workshop policies

Registration cancellation policy (no-show policy)

If you have registered for an MCLS workshop, and you are not able to attend, you must cancel in writing (via email: training@mcls.org) at least 72 hours prior to the workshop or you will be charged the full workshop price. The only exception will be for registrants who are unable to attend because of inclement weather. See also the Inclement weather policy below. You may, though, transfer your registration to another staff member at your institution without penalty.

Workshop cancellation policy (workshops canceled by MCLS)

MCLS will cancel workshops if there are not enough people registered or because of inclement weather. If MCLS cancels a workshop, registrants who have paid will be given full refunds.

Inclement weather policy

If you have registered for an on-site MCLS workshop and traveling may be hazardous the day of the workshop, please call the MCLS offices at 517-220-9950 after 6:00 am the day of the workshop. A recorded message will announce if the workshop for that day has been canceled. Only cancellations will be on the recordings. Assume the workshop will take place if there is no recording indicating cancellation.

Use your own judgment when deciding whether to attend. Those who cannot attend a workshop because of inclement weather will not be charged the workshop no-show fee. Please call MCLS if you cannot attend.

Participants with disabilities

If you have a disability that may impact your participation in a particular workshop, please let us know by emailing training@mcls.org and include a statement describing your disability-related needs. Someone from our staff will contact you before the workshop to discuss accommodations. We cannot ensure the availability of appropriate accommodations without prior notification of need.

MCLS Code of Conduct for meeting & event participants

MCLS is dedicated to providing a harassment-free environment at all meetings and events. We welcome everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion. MCLS does not tolerate harassment in any form.

Examples of harassment include, but are not limited to, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, and offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, or religion. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, MCLS will take appropriate action, which may include a warning to the offender, expulsion from the meeting with no refund, and/or denial of attendance at future meetings. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an MCLS staff member immediately.

By attending an MCLS event or meeting, participants agree to abide by the terms of the MCLS meeting and event code of conduct.
