June 28, 2013-2:00 – 4:00 pm, Eastern (1:00 – 3:00 pm, Central)

Join the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) to watch and discuss the OCLC Americas Member Meeting and Symposium featuring Jean-Baptiste Michel, Visiting Scientist, Harvard University and Erez Lieberman Aiden, Assistant Professor of Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine and of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at Rice University, who will discuss their quantitative approach to the study of history and culture: Culturomics.

We will view this talk live via OCLC’s live-streaming video feed from Chicago. Immediately following the Symposium, we will share our reactions, thoughts and ideas on the topics covered in the presentation via chat, including how Culturomics intersects with the world of library and information services. The post-Symposium chat session will be moderated by David Votta, Community Engagement Librarian, MCLS. This event is part of OCLC’s new series of cooperative-wide conversations, “Collective Insight: Driven by Shared Data.”
Register today for this event here.

To join the conversation after contact Heather Thomas at thomash@mcls.org prior to the meeting for chat log-in credentials.
