The Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) is pleased to announce that Stephanie Davis will be the next Manager of Group Purchasing. In this role, she will lead negotiations and subscriptions for electronic resources from more than 70 companies. Stephanie will begin on Feb. 5.
“MCLS has been a great partner over the years and has provided valuable services to every library that I have worked in. I am very excited about joining the organization,” Stephanie said. “As a library director, I am familiar with the challenges of providing access to electronic resources. I will bring my experience with vendors and negotiations to further capitalize on the joint purchasing power of member libraries. I expect to continue the high level of quality in the Group Purchasing Department, while bringing fresh ideas and new directions, too.”
“I couldn’t be happier that Stephanie is coming to MCLS,” said Randy Dykhuis, MCLS Executive Director. “She has a long record of success as a library director and is no stranger to negotiations and vendor relations. I am pleased to welcome Stephanie to the leadership team at MCLS.”
Stephanie is currently Library Director at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey, MI. As Director, she collaborated with the English Department to move the Writing Center into the library. She implemented LibGuides and led the restructure of the library website.
Prior to that, Stephanie was Director at Jackson College from 2012 to 2017. While there, she helped sharpen the library’s strategic focus and managed the implementation of EBSCO Discovery Service.
Stephanie’s other jobs include Information Literacy Coordinator at Northwestern Michigan College, Outreach/Instructional Librarian at Kellogg Community College, and Education Librarian at Spring Arbor University.
Stephanie is also active in professional associations, including Michigan Academic Library Association, Michigan Library Association, and American Library Association.
MCLS is a non-profit, member driven organization whose mission is to facilitate sharing resources and to collaborate with other organizations to benefit Michigan and Indiana Libraries. MCLS has 672 members of all sizes and types across Michigan and Indiana.
