I hope this finds you well in this new year, 2020. For this month, I’ll briefly highlight some things we’re working on at MCLS that will be coming soon. I’ve included some links below, for those who would like to learn more about these initiatives. Stay tuned for more information at our website.
- Creating one or more transformative agreements for academic libraries interested in participating in collaborative open access initiatives
- 2020 grants for Indiana libraries
- Continuing to participate in Project ReShare resource sharing software development
- Launching a new version of our member management system, to make work easier for MCLS members and staff
- Hiring a new Library Strategist, as part of our Engagement, Consulting and Training team
- Hiring a Michigan Digital Preservation Network Coordinator to create a network following from Grand Valley State University’s Stepping Stones project
- Starting new engagement work with the Library of Michigan
- Working with a full slate of consulting clients in Indiana and Michigan for 2020
- Working with the Collaborating Partners to plan our 2020 program on gender and sexual identity
- Launching new digital literacy training in Indiana and Michigan
- Welcoming two new Indiana MCLS Board members
- Trista Smith, Newburgh Chandler Public Library
- John Brock, Lake County Public Library
- Following up on our 2019 Member Engagement Survey results
