MCLS members invited to join Michigan Online Global Classroom for a limited release free online course

Save the date!

Starting February 2022, Midwest Collaborative for Library Services and the University of Michigan will partner to offer a pilot of the “Grant Writing and Crowdfunding for Public Libraries” online course.

With limited “seats” available, this initial course will be offered FREE for up to 100 individual staff members of MCLS member libraries in Indiana or Michigan when registration opens.

This online course is a limited release beta-version, launching as a pilot. While it will be a fully-functional course, we anticipate the potential for bugs/errors in this first release. In exchange for free participation, we will invite open collaboration and communication from MCLS member learners to help us identify and correct errors encountered.

In Grant Writing and Crowdfunding for Public Libraries, you will learn:

  • How to read a grant application and understand what organizations are looking for
  • How to keep a file of go-to grant writing materials
  • Strategies for crafting a strong grant proposal
  • Crowdfunding stories and strategies

To join when registration opens in February, you will need to create an account on Michigan Online Global Classroom, a new online platform for learning experiences. The University of Michigan uses this and other technology platforms to offer learning opportunities developed at U-M to learners around the world.

More information and registration invitation will be coming in early 2022, so watch the email lists and MCLS February eNewsletter.
