MCLS joined the Project ReShare community in 2019, and as of September 2023, MCLS and Project ReShare have decided it is in the best interests of both entities to part ways.
MCLS is the single largest financial contributor to date to Project ReShare’s effort to create new resource sharing software that is currently in use at over 100 libraries. I’m pleased that we have played a significant part in ReShare’s development, and thank the following colleagues for their efforts toward library resource sharing innovation:
- Mark Allcock (EBSCO)
- Donna Bacon (MOBIUS)
- Sean Cwiek (MCLS)
- Nora Dethloff (Greater Western Library Alliance)
- Megan Dudek (MCLS)
- Ian Ibbotson (Knowledge Integration)
- Allen Jones (The New School)
- Janet LaCross (MCLS)
- Jackie Licalzi (MCLS)
- Tim McGeary (Duke University)
- Adam Murray (Marmot Library Network)
- Christopher Spalding (EBSCO)
- Kristen Wilson (North Carolina State University)
Special thanks to the late Debbi Schaubman, who originally inspired MCLS to join Project ReShare.
Several library consortia, EBSCO, and Knowledge Integration have founded the Open Resource Sharing Coalition (OpenRS), a project of the Open Library Foundation. I look forward to seeing how OpenRS takes shape.
If you have questions about the work we do at MCLS, or ideas for how we can support innovation for libraries, I encourage you to contact me anytime at garrisons@mcls.org.
