I’m delighted to join MCLS as the new eLicensing and Collection Resources (eLCR) Manager, and to work closely with member libraries, vendor partners, and MCLS staff in connecting libraries with the resources their user communities need. It is truly a privilege to carry this work forward and I’d like to thank outgoing eLCR manager, Stephanie Davis, on the great work she has done to establish and maintain active relationships and creative solutions that help us respond to member libraries’ evolving needs. As Stephanie heads into retirement, I wish her the best and will continue to celebrate her many achievements at MCLS and with partner organizations and libraries. I also want to thank the eLCR team and all the MCLS managers and staff for their expertise and support as I learn this new role and the larger organization.
As part of onboarding and orienting to this position, I appreciate opportunities to connect with people from member libraries, partner organizations, and publishers/vendors. I recently enjoyed attending the Michigan Library Association Annual Conference in October and look forward to attending the Charleston Conference and Indiana Library Federation Annual Conference this month. I hope to see you at these events, or future conferences and meetings.
Whether or not we cross paths soon, I’m interested in hearing from you about what your library needs and how the eLCR team can help. As a member-driven organization, we hope to understand the issues member libraries are facing and to partner in supporting your eResource and collection needs. I’ll be proactively reaching out to some of our groups and members in the coming months, and I welcome you to contact me or the eLCR team if you have questions or would like to chat about your library. You can reach me at services@mcls.org (monitored by all members of the eLCR team) or directly at beaubiens@mcls.org. I look forward to working with you!
