Library services continue to evolve, and now more than ever, engaging your community to discover their true needs is a powerful way to develop library services that really matter. MCLS can provide your staff or board with a variety of training opportunities on the concepts and skills needed to make engagement a part of your library culture. Contact us about bringing any of these workshops to your library.
Community engagement training workshops from MCLS are eligible for LEUs for Indiana staff; number of LEUs will depend on length of workshop.
MCLS staff will speak to your staff, library board or at your conference presentation and deliver a one-hour overview of the concepts of community engagement for libraries.
MCLS staff will conduct a one-hour overview on the concepts of community engagement, followed by conducting a one-hour “aspirations” exercise with library staff or board.
A half-day of training for library staff on the importance of engaging the community in conversations about what matters to them. The training will include hands-on exercises and instruction in convening and leading insightful “community conversations.”
A full day interactive workshop including an overview of community engagement, assessment of readiness, case studies of impactful library community engagement, and facilitated exercises and group discussions tailored to your group’s needs. Participants will leave the workshop with a deeper understanding of community engagement and concrete ideas for taking action.
Don't see what you were looking for here? We are happy to work with you to develop the workshop/training which best fits your staff's needs.
MCLS staff are available to facilitate group discussions for your library. Whether they be strategy sessions, executive sessions, task forces, community gatherings or staff meetings, MCLS staff can guide the discussion, keep the group focused, and guide groups to effective solutions.
