On November 6, 2014, the Cooperative Directors Association, the Library of Michigan and the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) provided a program instructing and preparing librarians on interacting with the media.
It has never been more important for librarians to deliver a clear, consistent message to educate their constituents on the value of libraries, and in moments of crisis to effectively present themselves as community leaders. Robert Kolt, of Kolt Communications , facilitated a coaching session and interactive workshop.
Head of the journalism faculty at Wayne State University and Michigan Radio’s senior political analyst Jack Lessenberry addressed the group regarding “What the reporter really wants – Print and Radio”.
