Our Engagement, Consulting, and Training team are all experienced professionals in the fields of librarianship, non-profits, and engineering before transitioning to the consulting team at MCLS. We have experienced the same challenges, opportunities, and possibilities that our clients navigate every day. We don't just understand library work — we've lived it.
Our team of three consultants and one assistant holds advanced degrees and certifications in library science, nonprofit management, engineering, and facilitation methodologies, and are also experienced in a wide range of community engagement strategies and tools. We have experience facilitating a range of consulting services for libraries of all sizes and types, as well as for associations and non-profits. We bring the same commitment to excellence and the same relationship-centered approach to every engagement.

Pam has had an adventurous library career with 20+ years of experience and is now part of the team at Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) as the Manager of Engagement, Consulting, and Training. Passionate about empowering people to identify and amplify their strengths, Pam works with organizations through a people-first approach to change management, professional development, and engagement and inquiry-based initiatives. She is an experienced librarian, facilitator, and trainer who brings warmth, expertise, and a deep commitment to the people and organizations she serves.

Jan has worked in nonprofits for over 20 years and joined MCLS in 2016, where she serves as Library Consultant on the Engagement, Consulting, and Training team. Jan facilitates strategic planning, staff days, and training sessions for libraries across Indiana and Michigan, and is passionate about creating spaces where meaningful dialogue can flourish. She believes most answers are already in the room — and loves helping groups find them.

Jenny’s love of learning and passion for people led her from journalism to libraries and now to MCLS, where she serves as Library Strategist. Jenny works with library staff and administration to facilitate planning, professional development, and meaningful conversations that engage, inspire, and inform the future of libraries and their communities. She brings a deep commitment to emotional intelligence, inclusivity, and intellectual freedom to everything she does.

Gwen has been an integral part of the MCLS team since 2016, serving as Membership & Training Coordinator and providing essential administrative and data support for the Engagement, Consulting, and Training team. With a background in quality control, Gwen brings precision, care, and a keen eye for detail to everything from coordinating training workshops and managing registrations to data preparation and community survey support.
