About

MCLS provides libraries with the tools and training to better serve their communities.
RIDES

RIDES is Michigan’s statewide library courier service.

Public libraries can make any time learning time for their littlest patrons and their caregivers with this early learning text service!

Based on Every Child Ready to Read, messages in English or Spanish prompt parents to talk, sing, read, write, and play with their little ones. Activities build literacy, STEM, plus physical and social emotional skills to help parents prepare kids for kindergarten success. Only a child’s birth date and zip code are needed to sign up, so activities are tailored to a child’s developmental level and parents receive notifications about library events near them.
The pricing model is designed to make TALK accessible to public libraries as an early literacy program. Subscriptions are available for implementation exclusively at public libraries. We work with individual libraries of any size, plus consortia, library groups, and state libraries to offer TALK at scale. A TALK subscription has two components:

Schedule a demo or meeting to discuss how TALK can support your early literacy efforts. Contact us by email at talkhelp@mcls.org or 517-325-5545.
TALK is a service of MCLS that was made possible by the Ypsilanti District Library in partnership with the Library of Michigan and the Institute of Museum and Library Services [LG-246434-OLS-20].
